JOHN 10:10
"The thief comes to kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (ESV)
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (NIV)
Abundant: plentiful; having plenty of
Full: not lacking or omitting anything; complete
"And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." James 1:4
You were probably wondering what the significance of “10:10” is…
In gymnastics, 10/10 means perfection. In lacrosse, a full field competes with 10 athletes. In the weight room, 10/10 means max effort. In the classroom, 10/10 means without error. In the word, John 10:10 describes WHY Jesus came... so that YOU may live a FULL (abundant, plentiful, complete) life!
In your sport, in school, in your relationships, in your family, and in life our desire is that you walk with an attitude and a mindset that seeks to use fully the gifts and talents God has given you. Jesus came so that we may have life and life abundantly. In each of these areas of life it is inevitable that we will face challenges, opponents, or roadblocks…
But man oh man what a blessing those things are!!
Jesus came so that we may have life ABUNDANTLY. Life to the FULL. COMPLETE. Lacking in NOTHING. Not one thing.
So what does that mean? The good, the bad, the ugly, the fun, the exciting, and the hard. God we want it all! Because we know that He is giving us not just what we can handle. He is guiding us along a path to provide us with the tools, experiences, and trials that will help us to make the most of every situation, relationship, or environment we find ourselves in!
And most important of all 10:10 represents the perfect love of God. The love that allows for everything we stated above to be a reality. His love, His strength that He gives to us is the TRACK on which we stand as we run this crazy race called life.
So as we head into the fall season, we are embarking on a new school year, new games, off-season training, and new expectations. There will be roadblocks that seem to come in the way of the picture you have for this new year. Our challenge to you is to take it ALL as joy. Recognize the ways in which God is pushing you and stretching you to make the most of where your feet are right now, today.
You can do it because you have the strength. Because He has the strength. And He is with you and for you. So live it to the FULL!
We love you! We are on your team and in your corner. Can’t wait to see all that you will accomplish in the weeks and months ahead!
All our love,
Nick and Madison
